Iberdrola México recognizes key Mexican suppliers in its growth strategy

  • Iberdrola México made purchases for over $400 million dollars, out of which 71% were made to Mexican suppliers in 2021.
  • The Supplier of the Year Award recognizes the importance of its strategic allies in the company’s growth Project.

Mexico City, September 22, 2022.- With the 2022 Supplier of the Year Award, Iberdrola México recognized a total of 16 strategic allies who have contributed to the fulfillment of the company’s goals with the highest efficiency and quality standards, but also with common values, such as transparency, ethics, equality and inclusion, and social commitment.

“Iberdrola México promotes the Mexican industrial fabric without neglecting the social dividend, the support to communities, the care for the environment and the well-being of its employees. For this reason, in this edition it has rewarded Mexican suppliers that promote ethics, energy transition, and equality, among other essential values for the company, said Enrique Alba, CEO of Iberdrola México.

The awards event was held in Mexico City with over one hundred attendants including company’s suppliers and employees.

“Together we are proving that economic and environmental sustainability do not oppose each other while we promote a fair, inclusive and equal society through our actions”, said Alberto López-Pando, Purchasing and Insurance Manager at Iberdrola México.

In 2021, Iberdrola México made purchases for over $400 million dollars, of which 71% were for Mexican suppliers in different industrial sectors.

At present, Iberdrola México has 6,518 registered suppliers, of which 92 % are locals. “We stressed the service, quality and performance of all of them. Together we are the energy that moves the Mexican industry”, added Alba during the award ceremony.

WINNERS BY CATEGORIES

The slogan of the awards presented in this fourth edition was the word “RETO” (which stands for economic recovery, clean energies, energy transition and SDGs).

Awards were given to 16 companies – eight winners and eight finalists – who stand out for their commitment to energy transition, innovation, talent, diversity and inclusion, contribution to the SDGs and the combat against covid-19, among others.

By recognizing its suppliers, Iberdrola México reaffirms its commitment to the strengthening of the national industry and the country’s energy development.
