This year 2021, the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) has recognized us as a Socially Responsible Company for the ninth consecutive year. At Iberdrola México, we feel very proud that our actions in the country are yielding fruits and we reaffirm our commitment to continue on that track.
This award proves that our job has not just been generating power for the industry, but also be a partner of our customers and the country at large, by offering environmentally friendly quality solutions at competitive prices.
We are part of the CEMEFI because we are convinced that it is possible for Mexico to be an inclusive and thriving country with active citizens who are jointly responsible for developing public welfare. In this regard, we have sought that each of our projects in the 15 states where we are present will have a positive impact on the communities.
This award urges us to continue working to contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, mainly focused on the generation of affordable and clean energy, as well as actions to slow down climate change.
On top of the foregoing, efforts like Impulso STEM (STEM Boost) seek to encourage young people in Oaxaca to continue with their university courses and bridge the gender gap in engineering courses, and Luces de Esperanza (Lights of Hope), a project aimed at promoting the development of rural communities in San Luis Potosí and Oaxaca through the electrification of households that did not have access to these services owing to their geographical location.
Additionally, in the company we have a duty towards our employees, the Iberdrola People, who make our operation possible. From administrative positions to senior management, we have formed a team that is always willing to cooperate, innovate and become actively involved in the company’s development and the environment in which we operate.
Big changes are achieved with sustained actions. We continue to contribute to the country and to the strengthening of its industrial fabric.
