Iberdrola Mexico Helps Rehabilitate Two Health Centres in Altamira, Tamaulipas

  • The re-opening of the health centres will allow healthcare services to be provided to almost 2,000 people in the community.
  • Iberdrola provided the examination room furniture, medical equipment and infrastructure.

Iberdrola Mexico, in collaboration with the Altamira, Tamaulipas Integral Family Development (DIF, in its Spanish acronym) system and within the scope of company’s corporate social responsibility programme, began the rehabilitation and reopening of two health centres, where close to 2,000 people will be able to receive good quality medical care in this area where we have operations.

The company donated medical furniture and infrastructure, as well as equipment for the two health centres located in the Francisco Medrano and Aquiles Serdán ejidos. The latter is commonly known as “Barranco.”

For its part, the DIF System contributed to the project by providing medications and healthcare staff to give care and services in the two ejidos.

In attendance at the health centre re-openings were Alma Laura Amparán Cruz, the mayor of Altamira, and Alma Laura Hernández Amparán, the president of the Altamira DIF, along with Iberdrola Mexico representatives and the media.

Through the rehabilitation of these health centres, Iberdrola Mexico reaffirms not only our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, which aims to create value sustainably and contribute to national development, but also its commitment to improve quality of life for the communities that live in the areas surrounding the plants where company operates.
