Iberdrola México delivers rural clinic in San Luis Potosí

  • This delivery will help almost two thousand people living in nearby towns.
  • The company invested one million pesos to build a waiting room, an early stimulation room and a sterilization room.

San Luis Potosí, April 19, 2021.- Today Iberdrola Mexico delivered a rural clinic in the community of Huexco, in Tampacán, San Luis Potosí, that will benefit two thousand inhabitants from seven nearby towns that did not have the infrastructure to receive medical attention in the area.

To carry out this work, which was done in coordination with IMSS Bienestar, Iberdrola México invested one million pesos to build a waiting room, an early stimulation room and a sterilization room.

The clinic, located in a region with a large indigenous population, will attend inhabitants from the towns of Huexco, El Ojital, Hacienda del Refugio, Mixcotla, Las Vegas, El Refugio and Los Naranjos.

“For Iberdrola Mexico, it is essential to promote the welfare and development of the communities. So, I am sure this project will allow us to help improve the health of the inhabitants of the Huasteca Potosina,» said Manuel Argüelles, manager of the Tamazunchale combined cycle power plant.

Iberdrola México reaffirms its commitment to the regions it operates in through programs aimed primarily at the most vulnerable people and groups, in order to improve quality of life for communities near its facilities.

In San Luis Potosí, the company launched Luces de Esperanza in 2019, a project to electrify rural communities in the Huasteca Potosina by installing solar panels. This initiative has already benefited more than a thousand people in the region who had never had access to electricity. The second phase concluded last March, and the third phase is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
