As part of its commitment to society, Iberdrola works on developing programs aimed at having a positive impact on the education of children and youngsters in neighboring communities, providing tools and knowledge that will be crucial to their future personal and professional development from the beginning of the construction and throughout the operation of its power plants.

“At Iberdrola México we know that education received by elementary-age children is paramount for their development; consequently, in partnership with EXCELDUC and the Municipal Government, we foster the ‘Educación con Energía’ program with the aim of improving students’ cognitive skills”, stressed José Manuel Arguelles, manager at the Tamazunchale combined-cycle plant of Iberdrola México.

The municipal president of Tamazunchale, Antonio Costa Medina, expressed his commitment to this program’s development “which, he contended, will bring great benefits for all the people in Tamazunchale”, so he will fully support the continuity of the project.

“Educación con Energía” is part of the Social Action strategy of Iberdrola México Foundation, and has benefited more than 45,000 people in Durango, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Nuevo León, and Oaxaca as of today.
