As part of its ongoing drive to support educational development in Oaxaca, Iberdrola México launched its fourth invitation for the Impulso STEM scholarships for young people interested in studying engineering at the Technological University of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca (UTVCO).

The Ibero-American Foundation for Quality Management (Fundibeq) granted the Golden Award to Best Practices on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to Iberdrola México for its Impulso STEM program, which since 2019 promotes the study of degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in Oaxaca, mainly among women.
Iberdrola México has granted 19 scholarships to students from Oaxaca - ten women and nine men - to study a science or technology degree as part of the Impulso STEM (STEM Boost) program, which has so far benefited 58 students from Oaxaca over three generations.
Poverty is a worldwide challenge and in 1993 the UN declared October 17 as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty to remind governments, society and the private sector that, by joining forces, we can rise to this challenge.
