As part of the Casa Abierta (Open House) program, Iberdrola México recognized three women from the Istmo de Tehuantepec for their outstanding academic training and participation in several initiatives that benefit the community in terms of health and sports, the environment and the social field.

Generational diversity has become a pillar prioritized by companies in their staff, due to the need to strengthen diversity and inclusion values, which reflect the plurality of today’s world and focus attention on the advantages provided by the experience of each employee to the value chain of their sector.

The energy company Iberdrola México received in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) this Friday the Award for Best Practices in relation to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for its Impulso STEM program, which promotes the study of scientific and technological programs in the state of Oaxaca, mainly among women, since 2019.

The road to a more inclusive and gender egalitarian society is brighter. Although there are glass ceilings to break and challenges to tackle, the new dynamics support the fact that diversity is a ‘win-win’ situation.

As part of its ongoing drive to support educational development in Oaxaca, Iberdrola México launched its fourth invitation for the Impulso STEM scholarships for young people interested in studying engineering at the Technological University of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca (UTVCO).

We have heard much about sexism in recent years, but do you know what the term refers to? It is a "pattern of behavior that affects women and other sexually diverse genders" , which is reinforced by acts of misogyny, individualism, gender role stereotyping, machismo and objectification of women. It also affects other men.

We tend to conceive the world in terms of dualities: good and bad, black and white, men and women. But the fact of the matter is that society is not just composed of two parts: it is much richer and this extends to the workplace. At Iberdrola México we are aware of this which is why we promote diversity and inclusion both inside and outside the organization.

Nowadays the concepts of diversity, equality and inclusion are relevant and subject to debate in different sectors. These questions have been on the agenda at Iberdrola México and now more than ever we want people inside and outside the company to know about them. But what does each of these concepts actually refer to?

At Iberdrola México we are moving ahead with actions to promote diversity, equality and inclusion. As of 2022, our company extended maternity and paternity leave, providing periods longer than the ones required by law.

During the first week of October, Iberdrola México took part in International Volunteer Day 2022 held by the Iberdrola Group worldwide. The group's employees participated in activities focused on environmental protection, as well as raising awareness of diversity and inclusion issues.

Are you familiar with the concept of tolerance? The Royal Spanish Academy defines it as “respect for the ideas, beliefs or practices of others when they are different from or contrary to one’s own”.
