León, October 6, 2022.- Iberdrola México was recognized for the fourth consecutive year by the Mexican Industrial Chambers Confederation (CONCAMIN) for its commitment to ethics and values, and the development of social projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (ODSs).

The company received the 2022 Ethics and Values of the Industry Award granted by the CONCAMIN to the industrial sector companies with the purpose of recognizing their progress to turn ethics into the principle that guides their daily practices, both at an internal and external level.

Furthermore, this business leaders’ organization recognized Iberdrola México for its Impulso STEM (STEM Boost) Initiative in the Outstanding Practice category. With this program, the company has granted 56 scholarships to students at the Technological University of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca (UTVCO) to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics studies (STEM), mainly among women, since 2020.

“Iberdrola México always works in compliance with a sound ethical and values culture. I am grateful to CONCAMIN for recognizing our principles and for standing out the company’s values and the social projects that we are developing for the fourth consecutive year,” stressed Enrique Alba, CEO of Iberdrola México, after receiving the award from José Abugaber Andonie, president of the CONCAMIN, and the governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez.

In addition to contributing to energy development in Mexico, Iberdrola has a strong social commitment to the country’s communities. Through the initiatives fostered by the Iberdrola México Foundation and the Social Responsibility area, more than 4 million Mexicans have been benefited with actions addressed to education, health, culture, biodiversity and infrastructure.

During the presentation of the awards at the Annual Industrialists Meeting (RAI, for its acronym in Spanish), held from October 4 to 6 at the León Polyforum (Guanajuato), Alba thanked the Mexican industry for the existing synergies with the energy company since its arrival to the country more than 20 years ago.

The event, which has returned to physical presence this year, includes ten lectures and the attendance of political and business figures such as the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, and the chairman of the Business Coordinating Council, Francisco Cervantes.
