Mexico City, September 12, 2022.- The Asia-Pacific Quality Organization (APQO) recognized Iberdrola México with the Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) 2022, in the top “World Class” category, for its business management model, which turns it into a benchmark for other organizations.
The GPEA, considered to be the world’s quality award, has encouraged organizations to adopt validated best management practices, as well as systems that ensure process improvement on a sustainable basis and business excellence in the Asia-Pacific region since 2000.
“Iberdrola México is greatly honored to receive for the second time the international top category award, which is the result of our employees’ effort to achieve the highest quality standards”, said Enrique Alba, the company’s CEO.
This award “engages us to continue driving innovation, digitalization, efficiency and continuous improvement of our processes to provide our customers with comprehensive decarbonization solutions”, he added.
The APQO President, Mangalika de Silva, stressed in a letter addressed to Enrique Alba that Iberdrola México obtained the score required to be “worthy of this international award and the excellence business systems that it has implemented are a role model for other organizations”.
Iberdrola México – the only company in America to be recognized in the 2022 edition – received the award in the World Class category together with other seven organizations in countries such as India, Indonesia, Malasya, and Sri Lanka.
Fourteen organizations were recognized out of seven countries that demonstrated “a commendable to world-class performance in the three categories of the Global Performance Excellence Award of the APQO”, De Silva added.
The APQO invites companies that have previously received national and regional awards, as is the case of Iberdrola México, which in 2018 became the first private company in the electricity sector to win the National Quality Award and in 2019 and 2021 won the Ibero-American Quality Award, among other recognitions.
