Chihuahua, January 31, 2023.- Iberdrola México was recognized in the state of Chihuahua with the gold category of the Competitiveness Award 2022 for promoting a culture of business excellence and quality that encourages social and economic development. “We are proud to receive this award in its gold category because it is a recognition that we are a company committed to competitiveness and quality in all our processes. Also, we pursue the welfare of and boost of regions where we have a presence,” said Homero Ramírez, Coordinator of Quality, Safety, and Environment at Iberdrola México, after receiving this award at an event held at the Government Palace in Chihuahua.
This award is aimed at driving community development by supporting a culture of business continuous improvement and quality through the implementation of the National Model for Competitiveness.
Iberdrola México obtained the gold level in the 28th edition of this award, which was the first time it had ever applied for it, and was the only company recognized in the energy sector this year. On this occasion, 33 companies applied for the award and there were 19 winners: 1 in the platinum category -given to companies with the highest recognition for a total of five years-, 7 in gold, 7 in silver, and 4 in bronze.
The gold category is granted to highly competitive organizations with experience in quality management systems, which have developed a sound action plan to achieve excellence in all its facets.
The award is presented by the Centro de Competitividad Chihuahua (Chihuahua Competitiveness Center), a civil association that helps organizations grow through continuous improvement processes by means of various programs.
RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE
This award is in addition to other recent awards received by the energy company, including the Excellence Award to Global Performance (GPEA) 2022 in the World Class category, Ethics and Values in the industry; and the recognition to Best Practices on Sustainable Development Goals (ODSs) granted by the Ibero-American Foundation for Quality Management (Fundibeq) to the Impulso STEM (STEM Boost) program, which since 2019 promotes the study of degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in Oaxaca, mainly among women.
