Iberdrola Mexico delivers 2,000 food packages to help families affected by flooding in Oaxaca

  • The packages will be distributed in the town of La Ventosa with the help of the State Coordination of Civil Protection
  • This donation is in addition to two others made this month through the Ministry of Defense in Hidalgo and Veracruz

Oaxaca, September 29, 2021 – Iberdrola Mexico, in partnership with the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (CONCAMIN), has delivered 2,000 food packages to the Oaxaca state government as part of its efforts to help victims of the recent floods in the state.

The packages will be distributed to families in vulnerable conditions in La Ventosa and include non-perishable staple foods, as well as hygiene items such as soap, toilet paper and bleach.

“At Iberdrola, we are firmly committed to Mexico and our conviction is that by working as a team we can face the most difficult situations. As a company, we have an obligation to support the local communities where we are present, especially during emergency situations”, said Iberdrola Mexico CEO, Enrique Alba.

This donation is in addition to the 4,000 packages Iberdrola Mexico delivered this month to the Ministry of National Defense in the states of Veracruz and Hidalgo to help families affected by Hurricane Grace and flooding in Tula.

Furthermore, to address the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has donated more than two million units of medical supplies to different institutions around the country and distributed over 15,000 food packages.

In Oaxaca, it has delivered more than 330,000 units of medical supplies, including a ventilator for intensive care to the state’s Health Services, and 1,500 food packages in the municipalities of Juchitán, Santo Domingo Ingenio and El Espinal.

Iberdrola Mexico seeks to combine economic and social development, which is why it is undertaking ambitious social projects to improve quality of life and well-being in local communities, especially among the most vulnerable groups.
