Did you know that four out of ten people in the world do not have water at home?

Having the required amount of water for everyone is an increasingly complex challenge; population growth, geographic conditions and consumption habits are some factors that make it more difficult.
At our company we are committed to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. Hence, we have implemented practices that allow optimizing and minimizing the use of water in our energy generation process.
Mainly at our plant cooling towers, we reuse water as many times as allowed by salt concentration, reaching up to 6 cycles. Additionally, we do not use human consumption sources; we focus on treated sewage, salt and sea water. Also, we do not have municipal water available, we condition water available at our facilities for bath and kitchen use.
We are committed to the care of this vital resource, and therefore we consistently work on innovating these practices at each plant in order to properly manage water.
