For the fourth year running, this year Iberdrola Mexico received the 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility Award in recognition of its actions geared towards creating a culture of corporate environmental responsibility enterprise and continuous improvement by contributing to the common good.
Every year, this recognition is awarded by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) in partnership with the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility in Mexico (AliaRSE) acknowledges private enterprises that deliver on their commitment to carrying out socially responsible actions.
For Iberdrola Mexico, this award reaffirms the company’s social commitment and its responsibility to supporting environmental protection. These principles have served as the company’s raison d’etre at a global level, and its pillars of identity in Mexico, where it has a presence dating back 18 years.
The corporate social responsibility categories evaluated for the award included corporate ethics, community ties, environmental protection and conservation, quality of life, promotion of ethics and responsible consumption, value chain, and CSR management.
“We are very proud to receive this award for the fourth year in a row, as it endorses Iberdrola Mexico’s commitment to developing initiatives that help improve people’s quality of life and enhance the sustainable development of the communities we serve,” said Iberdrola Mexico CEO Enrique Alba.
Iberdrola Mexico is the largest privately-owned electric utility in Mexico, with its generation and wind power plants having an operational capacity of 5.4 GW. It also has projects under construction that will contribute another 2.5 GW of installed capacity.
