  • Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has donated two million units of medical supplies and distributed more than 15,000 food packages across the country.

Mexico City, September 15, 2021 – Today Iberdrola Mexico, together with Confederación de Cámaras Industriales (Confederation of Industrial Chambers) (CONCAMIN), delivered 2,000 food packages to the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) to help the victims of recent flooding in Tula, Hidalgo.

SEDENA received the packages at the collection center in Tula, which include non-perishable staple foods such as rice, beans, sugar, soup pasta, salt, oil, lentils, cans of tuna, corn flour and oat flakes, as well as hygiene items such as soap, toilet paper and bleach.

“At Iberdrola Mexico we know that in the face of natural disasters such as the one that hit Tula, it is essential to help the people affected as quickly as possible. It is in such difficult situations that we need to work as a team and pool our efforts in support of local communities and the more vulnerable groups”, said Iberdrola Mexico CEO, Enrique Alba.

This donation is in addition to the 2,000 food packages delivered last week at the headquarters of the Seventh Infantry Battalion in Coatzintla, Veracruz, to alleviate the emergency faced by families in that state following the passage of Hurricane Grace.

As part of its social commitment, the company has also implemented a plan to assist the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic by donating two million units of medical supplies to different public institutions in 20 states and distributing over 15,000 food packages in 80 communities.

Iberdrola Mexico seeks to combine economic and industrial development with social development, which is why it is acting to the benefit of Mexican communities, providing constant support in times of crisis.
