Iberdrola México Delivers a Rehabilitation Unit in Oaxaca

  • The center will benefit disabled people, elderly people who need therapy, sportspeople with injuries, and children.
  • The company invested over 1.8 million pesos in its construction, while the Santo Domingo Ingenio municipality will provide the equipment and staff for its proper operation.

Oaxaca, September 25, 2020.- Iberdrola México delivered the Basic Rehabilitation Unit in Santo Domingo Ingenio, Oaxaca, which will benefit disabled people, elderly people who need therapy, sportspeople with injuries, and children who need early care.

With an investment of over 800 thousand pesos, the work is designed to provide outpatient rehabilitation services including physical therapy, hydrotherapy, mechanotherapy, and electrotherapy. Additionally, it has early stimulation and psychology areas.

“It is critical for Iberdrola México to promote the wellbeing and development of the communities where it has a presence. Therefore, even in pandemic times we have worked closely to local authorities to deliver this project in time, which we are sure will help improve many people’s quality of life”, said Álvaro Velázquez, the company’s asset manager, during the delivery of the facilities to the municipal president, Amelia Gómez Ríos.

As part of the collaboration between both parties, the municipal authority will provide all the equipment and staff required for its proper operation.

With this project, Iberdrola México strengthens its commitment to support the regions where it has a presence, specially Oaxaca, where it has an installed capacity of 300 MW at four wind farms, in addition to projects that contribute to the social and economic development in the south-southeast of Mexico.

The company has invested in street paving, public lighting, the building of a high-school and its yard, the physical conditioning center’s equipment, and the building of the Culture House, among other,  in Santo Domingo Ingenio in the last few years.
