More than a tale, an opportunity to be enjoyed with the family

Since 1979, National Book Day has been commemorated in Mexico every November 12 to continue encouraging reading in our country, given that this is a crucial activity for individual and collective development. It is with this aim in mind that we at Iberdrola Mexico sought to promote the habit of reading even from a distance through our volunteers. This is how we created “¡Cuéntale un cuento! (Tell them a tale)” together with Iberdrola People.

From home, 26 volunteers from Iberdrola Mexico put all their energy into reading a story while they were being recorded and the video was broadcast in five homes and two nursing homes, as well as being shared on our social networks. Although the activity focused on children and young people between the ages of 3 and 18, people of all ages were able to enjoy the fun stories read out by our staff members.

In line with our commitment to education, we are aware that implementing actions such as this is of the utmost importance for the development of learning and a collective tool to stimulate the imagination, which is a very useful attribute for many aspects of daily life.

Thanks to technology this activity was a success and here you can find the stories our volunteers read out.

At Iberdrola Mexico we are working with commitment and creativity to overcome any adversities we face. Get your family together and, hand in hand with our Iberdrola People, celebrate this national day in a different way. And if you are far away from them, share the story you like best with them so that, even from a distance, they can enjoy a pleasurable moment.
